How to use

Frequently asked questions
- What's the difference between adding and removing tax?
- Add: you have the pre-tax price and want the gross (net + tax). Remove: you have a tax-inclusive price and want to split it back into net and tax. The two modes are inverses of each other.
- How do I remove VAT from an amount?
- If the gross amount is G and the tax rate is r, the net amount is G / (1 + r). For example, £120 inclusive of 20% VAT is £120 / 1.20 = £100 net + £20 VAT.
- What VAT rates do the presets cover?
- 5%, 7%, 10%, 12.5%, 15%, 18% (Rwanda) and 20% (UK). For other rates, type the exact value in the rate field — any percentage works.
